NATIONAL GARFIELD THE CAT DAY

 Jim Davis' Tabby Cat

On this day in 1978, the first publication of the award-winning comic GARFIELD was released.

I have always been a cat lady and Garfield has always been a favorite.  I don't need a special day to celebrate either, but since there is one...  let's party!

My plans: get into some Garfield-themed jammies, grab a coffee, a great book, cuddle in my snuggle blanket, and eat lasagna until I'm so full I have no choice but to nap.
Sounds puuurrrrrfect!

J.M. Northup's adorable BORIS!

MEET MY CHARACTER

1.       Who are you?
o   What is your name?
·   My name is Boris Gregori, but most people call me Boris or Bori.  My family likes to call me “Baby Boy” too.
o   Are you a fictional or historical character?
·   I am a fictional character based on a real cat – a real awesome cat! =^..^=
·  Olga and Charlie are real too.  Pearl is a real cat, too, but I didn't actually know her.  She belongs to my mom's best friend and her real name is Katrina.
o   What should we know about you?
·   I think everyone exists to play with me and I love corn.  Oh!  And I know my mom hates snakes, so I like to hide my toy snake in her bed whenever I can.  She is so funny when she finds it!
·   I told my story so that parents can read it to their little kids or younger readers can enjoy it.  It is like a chapter book, but it is set up so you can read a chapter a night.  Oh, and there's real pictures!
·   I hope my book will help start conversations and excite children to learn… or even adopt a cat because every animal wants and needs a forever home!  Plus, I wanted everyone to know that I like treats!
2.       Tell us about your story:
o   When and where is your tale set?
·   My story is in modern times and it takes place on a dairy farm.  Olga and I didn’t actually live on a dairy farm, but boy, after reading this story, I totally know I would!  I mean, I totally need to have a squirrel in my life!
o   What is your personal goal?  I mean, what do you ultimately want?
·   After being a stray on the city streets, I am trying to figure out how to fit into my new life on the farm.  I just want to be happy and have a good time.
o   What is standing in your way?  What conflict(s) do you face?
·   Well, to begin with, I lose my family and get fleas!  Then, I am adopted and well… being a curious cat, I’m sure you can imagine what sorts of trouble I find!
3.       How do I get a copy of your book?
o   What is the title or working title for this piece?
·   FELINE FASCINATIONS: The Adventures of Boris and Olga
o   Is it available now or when can we except to see it released?

FELINE FASCINATIONS

The Adventures of Boris and Olga Series

I am proud to announce that I have turned my first book from my new series,
FELINE FASCINATIONS: The Adventures of Boris and Olga
over to my amazing publisher, CREATIVIA!
This is my first book in the "Middle Grade" genre.
My released my debut novel, FEARS OF DARKNESS is in the "New Adult" genre or can also fit into the "Young Adult" classification.  My second novel, A PRISONER WITHIN is definitely in the "New adult" genre as well.  Upon hearing this, my young nephew was upset because that meant he couldn't read them.  He was so excited for me, but he was disappointed that he couldn't enjoy my books.  Therefore, he asked me to write a book specifically for him to read.
This is the birth of my new series!
I'm not sure when it will be available yet; it's still in it's infancy stages really.  As I've said, I just turned it over to my publisher to work their magic on it with editing, formatting, and beautiful cover art.  I'm just very excited and I wanted to share this news with my readers!  I'll keep you posted with updates as I learn more myself.
Peace & Blessings!

BOOK GENRE  TARGET
AGE GROUPS
Middle Grade Usually these are intended for kids 7 to 12 years of age.
Young adult Usually intend for teens 13+
New Adult Usually meant for readers 18+, but generally has characters between 18 to 25 years old represented in them.

My Cats Run My Life

I'm Worse With My Cats Than My Kids!

I have a difficult time saying "no" in general, but it's really horrible when it comes to my cats!
With my children, I'm a pushover, but I don't give them as much leniency as I do my furry babies.  The simple reason is because as my daughters grew up, they became more capable and less dependent on me.  My kitties are like perpetual toddlers and continue to need my assistance with even the simplest of things!
Their helplessness makes me more subservient.
I love my cats so much.  They bring me great joy and fill my life with laughter, love, and energy that cannot be replaced or substituted.  They are true blessings and I treasure them incredibly.
THEY'RE JUST SO CUTE!!!!

My name is Julie and I am a cat parent.
