Obituary for HELEN HUFF

In Loving Memory of My Beloved Grandmother

Helen Marie Huff was born March 29, 1928 and passed away at age 87 on Saturday, October 31, 2015.  Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, she later became a long term resident of Minneapolis, where she raised her own family.  During the last seven years of her life, suffering from severe Alzheimer’s, she’d been a resident at the Lakeview Health Center in West Salem, Wisconsin.  Her caretakers admitted her to the hospital on the night of Friday, October 29, 2015 with aspirated pneumonia and congestive heart failure.  

Helen married James Huff.  They had a daughter together, Joann Alma (Huff) Welch, who was born on December 24, 1946.

Her daughter, Sandra Jean (Maskrey) Grondin was from her second marriage to Richard Maskrey and she was born on December 4, 1953.

Helen was a care-taking for her disabled brother, Charles Melco.

She also volunteered throughout her life.  Not only did Helen regularly volunteer during elections, working at the polling station near her home, but she also gave many hours to the organization, Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly.  Helen loved blue grass music and dancing.  She called bingo and hand-crafted jewelry.

Helen is survived by her younger siblings, Marie Crea and Howard Melco, her grandchildren, Jerry Jorgensen, Jodi welch, Julie Northup, and Ed Grondin,

and her great-grandchildren, McKayla Griffin, Katerina Northup, Stephanie Jorgensen, and David Jorgensen.

She was preceded in death by her her brother, Charles Melco and both of her daughters, Joann Welch and Sandra Grondin.

Charles is buried along side their mother at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights, MN.
Joann Welch died on January 18, 2001 and is also buried in a family plot at Resurrection Cemetery.

Sandra Grondin died on November 7, 2008.

Helen was interred Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights, MN.  No services were held, but a private burial was attended by her sister, Marie and granddaughter, Jodi.

Remembering A Man of Many Faces

Robin Williams is a diverse and talented actor.

He touched the lives of many people through his comedy
and his dramatic portrayals alike.

He has been a staple in the homes of any who watch movies.

Not only did I grow up with Robin Williams, but my children did.

He leaves behind and incredible body of work and memories that help to shape generations!

Shirley Temple Black

R.I.P. Shirley Temple Black

Just heard that Shirley Temple Black passed away today at age 85.

She was a beloved child star who gave joy to the masses, helping them through the Great Depression.  She was the most famous performer of her era despite her young age.  Shirley had enormous talent and a giving soul!

Though she was a huge star in the 1930's, retiring by 1949 and I was born 1971, I was a huge fan of hers; both on and off the screen.

Honorably, Shirley Temple Black became a Republican Political Conservative when she retired from her acting career.  I remember seeing her in an interview when I was a kid and she had talked about how important it was to serve her community and country.  That had encouraged her to enter politics, accept an appointment by President Nixon to be a delegate at the United Nations General Assembly, and act as an ambassador under Presidents Ford and Bush.

Shirley Temple Black gave her life to entertaining and supporting the world.

She will be missed, but not forgotten!
