Body, Ink, and Soul by Jude Ouvrard
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
A Sexy Story About Self-discovery!
I really enjoyed this book. I thought it was a good read and entertaining. I liked the journey the characters take to understanding who they are and what they want out of life. I am truly looking forward to reading the rest of the series and to find out what happens next!
The romance is wonderful in story and the sex is tastefully written. You can feel the emotions of the protagonist, Nix and you walk with her as she struggles to understand her place in the world. It is a beautifully written transition of a young woman moving out from her her parents rules to embracing who she really is and what she feels is right in her life. You cheer for Nix and you love the friends in her life!
I think this story is relate-able and real. It appeals to all ages, but with the sexual encounters, I would called it PG-13, at the very least. I say this because I think teens will be able to enjoy it as much as adults. The story is universal and we've all either made the transition from child to adult (or will) and this story will hit home with the difficulties of doing so. However, it also gives you hope and reminds you that your life is what you make it. I keep wanting to say it is a "feel good" tale, but it is so much more than that!
I recommend this book to romance loves and YA /NA readers. It is heartwarming and sweet, but sexy and emotional. It is worth the investment of time and money!
